    7. IS logic change: For some lenses with built-in IS function, the user can choose to enable lens IS or IBIS. The control logic is as follows:
    8. When powering on the camera or switching back to shooting mode from playback mode, the state of the lens IS switch determines which IS is enabled: if the switch is ON, lens IS is enabled; if the switch is OFF, IBIS is enabled
    9. If the lens IS switch is ON when the camera is turned on, the lens IS is controlled by the lens IS switch and the IS mode in the camera menu. The IBIS function is always turned off. Even if the lens IS switch is turned from ON to OFF when the camera is turned on, the IBIS will not be automatically activated. To activate the IBIS function, please turn the camera off and then turn it back on, or play back a photo.
    10. If the lens IS switch is OFF when the camera is turned on, the IBIS will be controlled by the IS mode in the camera menu. The lens IS function remains OFF. If the lens IS switch is turned from OFF to ON at this time, the camera will automatically restart to re-enable the lens IS function.
    11. The lenses that currently support this IS selection function include: i. Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM ii. TAMRON SP 35mm F/1.8 Di VC USD iii. TAMRON SP 45mm F/1.8 Di VC USD
    12. Lenses with IS function that is not on the above list still work with lens IS only. They don’t support IBIS.

You need a PC or MAC and a USB Micro Bcable to upgrade the adapter.

    1. Connect the adapter to your computer.
    2. Find a new driver named “FRINGER” and copy new firmware to it.
    3. Wait for 20 seconds. The adapter will disconnect itself from the computer and reconnect. If it doesn’t reconnect automatically, you may disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it manually.
    4. Check installed firmware version (VERSION.TXT on the adapter)

    For example: Before upgrade:

    After upgrade:

Troubleshooting: Some of the cables in the market are for charging only and not suitable for data transfer. Thus, if you can’t find the “FRINGER” drive when adapter is connected to the computer, check your cable!

You may also read the adapter’s firmware version by Fujifilm’s method, i.e. press and hold DISP button before power on the camera. The “Lens version” on the screen is actually the adapter’s firmware version.

Be noted: The Gen 2/3 firmware was developed base on the v2.80 of Gen 1. However, these two versions are not compatible. If you copy the wrong

version to your adapter, it will not install.
