About updatemystuff.com

updatemystuff.com tells you when your gear gets new firmware, so you don't have to check a dozen manufacturer sites yourself.

What updatemystuff.com does

  • We watch manufacturers' official firmware pages and record every new version, its release date and its release notes.
  • Each release links straight to the vendor's own download page — we never host firmware files ourselves.
  • Withdrawn firmware stays in each product's history, clearly marked, so you can always see what changed and when.
  • Watch a product and get one email when a new version is published. No account or password needed to start.

Who it is for

Photographers, filmmakers, drone pilots and radio amateurs — anyone who owns equipment that gets firmware and would rather be told than go looking. Everything here is free to read, and the whole catalog is also available as feeds and open data.

Why I built it

I could never get a clear overview of the firmware that actually applied to my own gear. At one point I realised I had been putting off an update that would have solved a problem I'd lived with for months — partly because it was hard to find in the first place, and partly because keeping track of every camera, lens and accessory across a dozen manufacturer sites simply took more time than I had. When I mentioned it to a few photographer friends, it turned out we all had exactly the same struggle. That conversation was the start of updatemystuff.com.

New vendors and features land here regularly. If you spot something that's wrong, something that's missing, or something that would make updatemystuff.com better, please tell us through the contact form — your input genuinely shapes where it goes next.
