- Backup Profile before update (recommended)
- Use AC power or fully Charged battery
- Note older version of firmware before update Firmware Compatibility:
- PageOS 4 is compatible with all current SmallHD monitors.
- PageOS 4 is not compatible with legacy monitors (DP1, DP6, DP4, AC7, and DP7-PRO).
Features Added: Integration with Pomfort Livegrade on Cine 24 and OLED 22 monitors.
- A new “Livegrade” tool is available under the addons menu.
- Connecting to Livegrade works just like a Teradek Colr. (Pending Livegrade update 5.3 in mid November)
- Set up instructions : LINK Cine 7 RX & TX now both support the 4K RX Module.
- The internal wireless BOLT 1080p can not be used while the 4K module is attached.
Dashboard Page Rework
- Now can be added and removed like any other page, but is always fixed to be immediately to the right of the Settings Page. May not be renamed.
- Shows much more information regarding input details, Color Pipe, Calibration, and Backlight Settings.
- Only allows changing the active input. Does not allow any other adjustments.
Anamorphic Values may now be <1 (for those portrait shooters out there). New HDR Tools added to the following monitors (Cine 24, OLED 22, 1703 P3X, 1303 HDR, 503 UltraBright, 703 UltraBright, 703 Bolt) HDR False Color
- False Color Legend now displays nits when viewing HDR data.
- There is now an option to highlight video data our monitor cannot display.
- HDR Zebra
- Limits are now specified in nits when viewing HDR data.
- HDR Histogram
- Axis are labeled in nits when displaying HDR video.
- Display limits are shown as vertical bars, indicating what data will be clipped when shown on the display.
Bugs Fixed: RED® KOMODO™ camera connections will no longer fail for the first 12 seconds after a USB cable is detected.
The Backlight tool no longer displays Studio & Cinema mode options when they are not valid for the monitor.
Selecting them used to cause a crash.
PQ Data Range will no longer sometimes be incorrect.
- When the user selected a PQ color pipe, the monitor would not update the data range configuration.
Cine 7 Studio Values Corrected back to what they were on v4.2.0 and prior.
Check Boxes in tree menus (Teradek RT, Camera Control) are no longer broken.
Shotover & Teradek RT tools no longer appear on monitors without USB.
Manual Adjustments: Gamma Shift Fixes (Gamma Shift now only applies to the corresponding calibration).
RED® KOMODO™, many small fixes:
- Connection warning now displays when no USB Serial device is detected.
- LUT selection in tree menu now works.
Custom shutter options are now retained.
- Playback: PREV / NEXT buttons now skip unplayable clips.
- RCP2 timecode leaf now works in tree menu.
Static IP Address Fixes
- Previously, the monitor would not claim its assigned static IP address unless the user selected the “IP Address” button in the IP ADDRESS settings menu.
Fixed bugs that could cause Firmware Details popup to appear unexpectedly. Fixed a potential crash when saving profiles. Improvements and Alterations: Settings Button Snap-Back behavior:
- Pressing the Settings button (or any page button) snaps directly to that page. Pressing it a second time jumps back to the original location. This option now lapses after 5 minutes instead of 5 seconds.
After a factory reset, Date & Time need to be reset. We now use a different prompt for this, versus when the monitor has not yet been registered. Media Browser can now delete items. Media Browser can now create folders. Histogram Axis are now labeled. At least 0 and 100 IRE are labeled. 1:1 Viewing
- Crop & Scale tool now has an easy “1:1” setting. This will scale up video that’s a larger resolution than the display, and scale down video that’s a smaller resolution.
- Pixel Zoom now stops at the 1:1 viewing ratio if it happens to pass by it when moving from one scale factory to another. For example, if viewing 4K video on a UHD display, the 1:1 ratio is somewhere in between 1x and 2x. So when a customer first zoom in using Pixel Zoom, it will stop at “1:1.” If they zoom in further, it will progress to “2x zoom.” New Bugs:
Static IP address assignment does not behave reliably
- Workaround: For each field of the IP address, only use values that are either greater than 100 or less than 8. For example: 192.168.1.4, NOT 192.168.1.12 Recommended Practices
- Connect third party external recorders directly downstream of your source device (i.e. camera), not downstream of the monitor.
