A new firmware update is now available for the Xiegu X6200 , bringing an important CW keyer fix, an S-meter correction, and a new CW keyer macro function . What’s New in Firmware 1.0.8
- CW keyer speed corrected The update fixes an issue where the actual CW keying speed did not accurately correspond to the selected WPM setting.
- S-meter bug fixed An occasional issue where the S-meter could become stuck at −255 dBm has been corrected.
- Restored CW Keyer Macro Function Firmware 1.0.8 restores the CW keyer macros , allowing operators to use pre-programmed CW messages instead of manually keying the complete message. This can be particularly useful for commonly repeated exchanges, callsigns, CQ calls, and other messages during portable operation or contests.
To access the CW macro function: Select CW or CWR mode Press the
[APP]
key Press
[F3] – [CALL]
- The macro function makes the X6200’s built-in electronic keyer considerably more useful for regular CW operation.

X6200_Update_1.0.7 (251012) — Release Notes [EN] Optimized the AGC algorithm and fine-tuned the AGC rise time in each mode to improve the listening experience.
Fixed a bug where WFM demodulation would become silent after being left idle for a period of time.
Fixed a bug where battery capacity detection was inaccurate.
Fixed a bug that caused crackling noise in the received audio after the CW decoder was turned on.
Optimized the NR algorithm.
Changed the baseband uplink data to use SLIP encoding.
Added 2.5 kHz and 5 kHz tuning step options in SSB mode.
Changed the preset filter bandwidths in AM mode to 9 / 12 / 15 kHz.
Optimized the receiving noise floor.
Added an option to display the receiving level in the upper-left corner of the spectrum window ( DISPLAY 3/3 > SHOW RX LEVEL, default =OFF ) Added two waterfall chart speed options: NORMAL / SLOW ( DISPLAY 3/3 > WATERFALL SPEED, default = NORMAL ).
Modified the upper frequency limit to 136 MHz (consistent with the manual).
Fixed a bug that caused a black screen and disconnection when rotating the main tuning wheel quickly while connected to a WR12.
Fixed a bug that caused the spectrum display to freeze (in severe cases, the entire screen would freeze) when the RF spectrum line color transparency was set below 255.
Removed the CW option from the MODEM interface (the CW decoder has been moved to the KEY menu).
Added a 3D BANDSCOPE option (
DISPLAY 3/3 > 3D BANDSCOPE = ON
). Full article outlining the improvements ➜ © Pileup Communications 2025

Xiegu X6200 firmware update with new features, optimisations and a few bug fixes.
IMPROVEMENTS
- Added new CW decoder on the second page of the KEY menu. Press the [CW Decoder] button to turn it ON/OFF. When CW Decoder is ON decoded text will scroll from right to left and be displayed at the bottom of the waterfall diagram. Press the “CW Decoding Threshold” and use the outer ring of the MFK to adjust it between 1 to 50. Adjust it to optimize decoding rate. For lower noise levels try a setting between 5 – 14, for higher noise levels (S9) use 15-30.
- Added full support for FT8CN via Bluetooth
- Added support for the new Xiegu WR12 Wide-Band receiver Add-on module. A blue WR12 icon will appear in the upper right corner left to the voltage display whenever the WR12 Add-on is connected to the Xiegu X6200 HOST port.
- Optimized the NR algorithm.
- Added NETWORK information in the SYSTEN INFO Menu
FIXES
- AM Modulation fixed
- Deviation level for NFM adjusted
- Improved battery gauge accuracy
- Changed VFO frequency color to darker green to avoid glare at night.
