v1.03 is not the latest firmware for the TASCAM DR-701D: the current version is v2.10 (February 1, 2021). Go to v2.10
What's in this update
- Fixed an issue where the incoming TC Frame rate was being automatically recognized as 24 fps when it was actually 23.976fps.
- Fixed an issue where disconnecting and reconnecting the input HDMI cable or power cycling the camera while the cable was attached would make the DR-701D unable to receive TC from the HDMI input.
- Additional improved reliability when cascading multiple units.
- Operation stability has been improved.
NOTE
If updating directly from 1.00 or V1.01, please be sure to update to CPLD V24 after updating to V1.03. V1.02 and CPLD V24 fixes（2015.12.18）
- Fixed an issue with battery remain time not being displayed correctly if a USB power source was in use and disconnected while in Hold mode.
- Fixed an issue where automatic Record End and Shutdown may not occur correctly with a depleted battery.
- Additional improved reliability when cascading multiple units.
- Additional improved reliability when using a HDMI connection.
- Operation stability has been improved.

After updating the Firmware, please update the CPLD as well.
