    • Support was added for recording with Ambisonic mics.

    Recording in Ambisonic A and B formats is possible.

    When B format is selected, FuMa or AmbiX can be selected.

    Three mic orientations can be set according to t​he mic placement.

    TASCAM XRI is supported, and Ambisonic mic settings can be saved in the file metadata when BWF is selected.

    B format audio can be converted to stereo and monitored.

    Audio from individual A and B format channels can be monitored directly.

    The menu structure changes to a dedicated one when using the Ambisonic function.

    • The number of characters for the user word setting for file names has been increased from 6 to 9.
    • A function has ​been added that allows you to press and hold the MENU button to go back one page when the Menu Screen is open.

    • A mode to display a time code counter on the Home Screen has been added.

    • Fixed an issue where a Panasonic DMC-GH4 might in rare cases not be recognized on the HDMI input depending on the order in which power was applied to both devices. Operation stability with the DMC-GH4 has been improved.
    • Operation stability when connected to a SONY PXW-FS5 via HDMI has been improved.
    • Improved clarity of warnings when using Phantom power.
    • The smoothness of the EXT IN gain curve has been improved.
    • Operation stabil​ity when using Cascade for multiple devices has been improved.
    • Operation stability has been improved.

    • Fixed an issue where the incoming TC Frame rate was ​being automatically recognized as 24 fps when it was actually 23.976fps.
    • Fixed an issue where disconnecting and reconnecting the input HDMI cable or power cycling the camera while the cable was attached would make the DR-701D unable to receive TC from the HDMI input.
    • Additional improved reliability when cascading multiple units.
