Lens firmware day, a DJI pile-up, and nine new products on the tracker

Week of 27 July – 2 August 2026

A busy one. 29 July turned into an unofficial lens firmware day, DJI spread updates across half its catalogue, and nine products showed up on updatemystuff.com for the first time.

The big one: 29 July lens firmware

Three vendors pushed lens updates on the same day.

  • 7Artisans — eight lenses, all on version 2026.07.29: LITE AF 25mm, 35mm and 50mm F1.8, plus AF 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 135mm F1.8. A date-stamped version across the whole autofocus line usually means one shared codebase getting refreshed at once, so if you own more than one, check them all.
  • Panasonic Lumix — four S-series zooms jumped to 2.0: the 14-28mm F4-5.6, 18-40mm F4.5-6.3, 28-200mm F4-7.1 and 70-300mm F4.5-5.6. A round 2.0 across a whole family is worth reading Panasonic's own notes on before you flash.
  • Tamron 25-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 (Sony E) — version 3.

New on the tracker

Nine products started being watched this week:

  • TTArtisan AF 50mm F1.8 Neo in Sony E, Nikon Z and L mounts — and all three already got firmware on 31 July (versions 05, 1.02 and 1.1 respectively, because mount-specific version numbering is apparently a rule now).
  • Neewer NL480S and NL660S lights, both with updates dated 27 July (1.1.0 and 1.1.4).
  • Panasonic's LUMIX S 14-28mm, 18-40mm and 28-200mm — new to us, and straight into that 2.0 batch above.
  • DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, which arrived with three firmware entries logged at once.

DJI's week

Seven products moved, mostly on 30–31 July:

  • Air 3S — 01.00.1700
  • Avata 2 — 01.00.0500
  • Lito X1 — 01.00.0400 and Lito 1 — 01.00.0300
  • Osmo Pocket 4P — 01.01.65.13 (with 01.01.58.03 and 01.01.09.05 backfilled)
  • Osmo Mobile 8P — 01.02.10.01
  • Power 1000 — 01.00.1800

Older DJI entries also landed in the index this week: Osmo Action 6 (01.05.08.03, 22 July) and Osmo Action 4 (01.07.06.10, 21 July).

Everything else

Nothing was withdrawn this week.

One note on the backfilled entries: we're logging when a firmware version entered our index, not claiming it shipped this week. The release dates above are the vendors'.
