Firmware roundup: Sigma's E-mount sweep, dated Canon and Astral gear, and a fresh Autel/Sound Devices lineup

The week in short

Lots of ground covered this week: Sigma pushed firmware across nearly its entire E-mount prime lineup, Sound Devices and Autel Robotics both joined the tracker with deep version histories, and a handful of smaller updates landed for Canon, Neewer, Insta360, and GoPro. Most entries here are version numbers and dates without changelogs, so where we can't tell you what changed, we'll say so plainly.

Notable updates

• Sigma E-mount primes, firmware v03/v04/v07 (2026-07-23) — a coordinated update across the 17mm F4, 20mm F2, 24mm F2, 45mm F2.8, 65mm F2, and 90mm F2.8 Contemporary lenses, plus the 35mm F1.4 Art. No changelog details, but this many lenses updating on the same day usually points to shared internal work, maybe autofocus tuning or camera-compatibility fixes.
• Canon EOS R6 Mark III & EOS R6 V, firmware 1.1.0 (2026-07-07) — both R6 variants got the same version bump, worth a look if you're shooting either body.
• Sound Devices and Autel Robotics join the tracker — we're now watching Sound Devices' 8-Series, MixPre, Astral line (ARX/HH/Mini/TX), SD-Utility, and USBPre2, plus Autel's EVO Nano, Lite, and Max series. Long histories are now in view, so future updates to any of these will show up here going forward.
