   • Overdubbing was not possible on audio tracks mixed down with the POCKET STUDIO app. This has been fixed.
   • When editing audio files recorded on thi​s unit with iZotope RX and then exporting them using "Export Regions to Files", 100 identical files would be created.

   This has been fixed.

   • When VOICE was the app that launched at system startup, the input aud​io would not be mixed in mono, and only the audio from the left channel would be recorded.

   This has been fixed.

   • Operation stability has been improved in other ways.

   • The fol​lowing issues that occurred in the VOICE, PODCAST, MUSIC, FIELD, and ASMR apps have been fixed.
   • When the size of a file exceeded 4 GB during recording, recording would end without a new file being automat​ically created.
   • Recording would continue even after the time set for TIME FILE INCREMENT had elapsed.

   • MTR application "POCKET STUDIO" has been added.
   • When recording in MANUAL mode, two mixes were recorded at the same t​ime, but the user can now choose whether to record or not.
   • EXPANDED PRE REC mode has been added to the prerecording function available when using the FIELD app.

   < Maintenance items >

   • When AUTO TONE was turned on and HOLD was selected immediately after recording started, AUTO TONE would not turn off. This has been fixed.
   • When a confirmation pop-up "Is the AC adapter 1.5A or more?" appeared while a phantom power on confirmation pop-up was displayed, the phantom power on confirm​ation pop-up would disappear. This has been fixed.
   • When mixing down large size files while connected via Bluetooth, the system would hang up. This has been fixed.
   • Timecode synchronization stability with compatible Atomos products has been improved.
   • When switching from the PODCAST app to another app, the recording format settings that were made prior to the PODCAST app are now restored.
   • The display of remaining alkaline battery charge has been adjusted.
   • Operation stability has been improved in other ways.

   • When the Portacapture Control remote control app is communicating in the background on a device, for example, connection with the unit will no longer be interrupted, even if the ​device itself enters energy-saving mode.

   Note: Use of Portacapture Control requires an AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter, which is sold separately.

   < Maintenance items >

   • The name of the “PUNCH I/O” mode has been changed to "OVERDUB / PUNCH I/O” in the MANUAL app.

   Note: Only the name has been changed. The functionality its​elf has not changed.

   • Wireless timecode synchronization is now supported with ATMOS CONNECT and SHOGUN CONNECT by Atomos Pty Ltd.

   Note: Timecode synchronization requires an AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter, which is sold separately.

   • Operation stability has been improved in other ways.

   < New functions >

   • Audio interface functions now support the 32-bit float format.

   The 32 bit float function, which enables the preservation of audio resolution even after adjusting levels, can now also be used when recording to a DAW using t​his unit as an audio interface.

   Note: For use with Windows, download the latest ASIO driver (V1.10).

   • The USB MIX MINUS function can now be used in the PODCAST app.

   This can suppress the occurrence of echoes in audio from remote participants when capturing podcasts.

   • INPUT SETTINGS, including for the low-cut filter, compressor, limiter, auto gain control, noise gate and other effect functions can now be saved in up to 3 presets and loaded in each recording app.
   • Unit settings and recording app sett​ings can now be saved in up to 3 USER SETTINGS and recalled with a single tap from the LAUNCHER screen.

   < New functions >

   • Support has been added for wireless timecode synchronized recording with Atomos Pty Ltd’s AtomX SYNC, UltraSyn​c BLUE and other compatible products such as ATOMOS CONNECT and SHOGUN CONNECT.

   Video and audio files recorded with timecode data on multiple devices using synchronized recording can be aligned easily on editing software.

   Note: An AK-BT1 (sold separately) Bluetooth adapter is required.

   • When using the included mics in X-Y format w​ith stereo linking off, the left and right input gain settings were reversed.

   This has been fixed.

   • Typographical errors shown on the main unit screen have been fixed.

    < New functions >

    • Overload displays for detecting input signal distortion on analog circuits have been added.

    This allows excessive input to be checked in an instant and reco​rding conditions to be adjusted.

    • The hold functions of the Portacapture X8 unit and the Portacapture Control remote control app have been made independent.

    This makes disabling each operations separately possible.

    • A solo monitoring function for each track has been added to the INPUT SETTINGS screen.
    • A solo monitoring function for each track has been added to the MIXER screens of the MANUAL and PODCAST apps.
    • A shortcut function that enables returning to the LAUNCHER directly has been added to each app.

    • Inserting and removing batterie​s no longer initializes the unit settings.
    • In the MANUAL and PODCAST apps, the recording enabled/disabled state of each track is now remembered.
    • Wheel operation would sometimes be disabled.

    This has been fixed.

    • When the punch in/out function was used to punch in from the beginning of a file, writing would fail.

    This has been fixed.

    • When using the auto gain function, noise would occur in recording files on rare occasions due to the environment.

    This has been fixed.

    • When using the limiter function, pumping noise would occur in recording files on rare occasions.

    This has been fixed.
