Cayley Release - Get on scene faster. Track smarter. Plan with precision.

Cayley is a major platform upgrade for Skydio X10 and X10 Controllers, delivering 45 mph Fly Here Now speeds with obstacle avoidance, advanced Shadow autonomy, Cloud-managed encryption, and expanded mission planning on controllers.

NEW CAPABILITIES

  • Shadow Subject Track and Follow (Beta) — Track a subject in place or enable autonomous following for a continuous visual lock.
  • Expanded Incident Management on X10 Controllers — Pilots can now view the full Incident list, making it easier to review, prioritize, and select Incidents during active operations.
  • Quick Shot (Pitch/Yaw) — Use Input Mapping to assign Quick Pitch and Quick Yaw shortcuts that help you incrementally reposition the camera or drone more quickly.
  • Share Pre-planned Map Captures in Cloud to X10 Controllers — Set up a Map Capture mission in Skydio Cloud then share it with Pilot roles for easy access on controllers
  • Cloud-Managed Encryption — FIPS 140-3 validated encryption managed through Skydio Cloud ensures that only authorized users can access contents on the SD card, even if the drone crashes or is recovered elsewhere.

GET ON SCENE FASTER

  • 45 mph speeds for Fly Here Now missions on X10 Controllers — Previously capped at 36 mph, reach incidents faster while maintaining full obstacle avoidance.
  • Faster launch times — Launching is now ~10 seconds quicker, improving response during time-critical missions
  • IR NightSense power optimization — Strobing reduces battery draw at night by 5–7 minutes while maintaining full obstacle avoidance performance
  • No Hand-Wave Calibration Required for GPS Night Launches — Launching from the ground at night with GPS-only no longer requires hand-wave calibration

IMPROVED AUTONOMY

  • New Return Option: Backtrack — When Backtrack is selected, Skydio X10 will retrace its outbound path to return along the previously traveled path

BETTER CONNECTIVITY

  • Introducing the Fusion+ Attachment — Adds a second cellular modem, creating a triple-link configuration (Skydio Connect SL plus dual cellular) for higher throughput and more reliable connectivity
  • Improved Video Stability and Connectivity — A suite of under-the-hood improvements that make live video and connectivity more stable across Dock operations.
  • Reduced Network Visibility for Direct Connection — Hides the direct-link network name for lower operational footprint.

NEW CAPABILITIES

  • Skydio Shadow: Subject Track and Follow
  • Shadow enables your X10 to act like a true teammate, autonomously maintaining a consistent visual lock on people and vehicles, making it easier to track and capture critical details on moving subjects.
  • Predictive reacquisition enables Shadow to reacquire tracking even when the subject is briefly hidden behind obstacles.
  • Responsive following keeps the subjected centered, maintaining distance and altitude while dynamically responding to the environment, avoiding obstacles—even while flying backwards.
  • Clearer follow controls, including the option to automatically begin following after selecting a subject.
  • Operate day or night by seamlessly transitioning between color and thermal sensors to track subjects at night or in low-visibility environments.
  • Each tracked subject appears on the Map View—helping operators communicate position and assign coverage.

Shadow Track and Follow continues to provide two modes for tracking subjects: Track in Place Maintains lock on a subject and keeps them framed in the camera, even through brief occlusions by p
